THE BRIEF - Our Goal HOW MIGHT WE leverage on assistive features to foster independence among visually impaired users of internet accessible mobile devices?

ABOUT ARIA

Aria app was created to enable visually impaired people comfortably use a digital voice assistant to navigate through their phones with little or no help. We are looking to create something more helpful than Google assistant or Siri that could act as a screen reader plugin as well as an image and document reader with language accessibility (which includes modern Nigerian English, pidgin English and the 3 major Nigerian languages). Our app will also include a feature which lets the users decide which apps they want to use the assistant to have access to.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

Technology has been able to provide support to its current users. However, there is an inclusivity gap for blind and visually impaired people. People with visually impaired disability have a struggle when navigating the internet or mobile phones due to a deficiency of assistive features on software's and mobile applications.
